Johnstown/Altoona Viewers: Rescan on October 2!
If you’re a Johnstown/Altoona viewer watching this station for free with an antenna, listen up! Cornerstone Television’s rescan day for WKBS is coming.
On October 2 at 12 pm, the Johnstown/Altoona station (WKBS) is moving to a new frequency — and if you use an antenna to watch free TV, you will need to take action.
You will have to rescan your TV or converter box on October 2 at 12 pm (Noon) to make sure you can continue watching us. Once you rescan your set, you’ll still find us right here on channel 47.1, along with our Faith & Family Channel on channel 47.6 — provided you have a compatible antenna.
This new WKBS frequency will require an antenna capable of receiving VHF channels. Viewers with antenna related questions can call 412-349-4323 for further information or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Those who watch Cornerstone Television through a cable or satellite service do not need to rescan on October 2, 2019.
Now, don’t try to get ahead. Doing it before October 2 at 12 pm will not work, as we will not have moved yet.
When our moving day arrives, rescanning is easy and just takes a few minutes. You can do this by selecting “scan” or “autotune” from your TV or converter box control menu. You can usually find instructions by pressing the “set-up” or “menu” buttons on your remote control.
If you subscribe to cable or satellite service, your service provider will make this change for you. But don’t forget those extra TVs, if you have one in a bedroom or kitchen that uses an antenna only and is not connected to your service. Those will need rescanning.
