How to tune in Harrisburg's newest
Christian TV station W07DP (formerly W35BT)

W35BT anglog has become W07DP digital
Because of FCC branding rules that means our real channel is 7 but our virtual channel is 35

So, you will tune for channel 7, but it will display as channel 35.

The signal reaches from over 30 miles to the West of Harrisburg to over 30 miles to the east of Harrisburg

The signal also reaches 30 miles to the south from the Mechanicsburg area, down toward the MD state line.

As of March 22, 2010, W07DP is on two cable systems.
Verizon FiOS channel 35.

So if you don't have those two cable systems you will have to use an antenna.

What kind of antenna will I need?
Any area which is gray in the coverage map can potentialy use a simple set top VHF antenna like rabbit ears.

The red and blue areas also get good signal but may require outdoor antennas.

Unfortunately the broacast industy is very disappointed in the performance of VHF digital channels.

outside antennas are often required.

The web site www.antennaweb.org will give you a map of your neighborhood and show all the free TV stations that can be received at your house.

The last thing you have to do is connect the antenna.
You could just remove the cable connector from your TV and put on the connector from the antenna.

Or more conveniently, you can get what is called an "A/B Switch" from Radio Shack that will switch the cables for you by just pushing a button.

When you want to watch cable, switch to the cable line.

When you want to watch W07DP, switch to the antenna line.

Let your cable company know you want them to carry W07DP.
Your cable company wants to carry the programming their subscribers want.

You just have to tell them what that is.

Letters are a very good way, probably better that a phone call, (unless you can get to talk directly with the decsion maker).

With competition from satellite companies, regular cable companies need to be carrying local stations like W07DP, so that cable will have something satellite can not offer.
