Norma Bixler

Founder, Cornerstone TeleVision

Norma was a pastor’s wife when she felt called of the Lord to start a television station.  At first, her husband, Russ Bixler (whom she had met at Bridgewater College in Virginia), did not feel the same, but Norma and seven other ladies prayed together for years until the vision came to pass.  Once Russ caught the vision, he and Norma worked hard and overcame many obstacles to accomplish the task the Lord had set before them. The station went on the air April 15, 1979. Russ was CEO of the station until his death in January of 2000.  Norma has continued to be a strong leader, prayer warrior, and co-host on the flagship program. The Bixlers had four children and now there are 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.


Mitchel Nickols, Ph.D

Pastor, Bibleway Christian Fellowship

Dr. Mitchel Nickols, CTVN Board Chairman, Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, with training in Communications, Education, Supervision and Sociology,has an extensive background in working with nonprofits, in addition to being on the CTVN Board for more than 20 years. A senior pastor, he has served as a college professor for more than 12 years for several colleges, in areas of Leadership, Communications, Ethics, Organizational Change, Community Ministry, as well as working with organizations as a business consultant in leadership and staff development. He is also an award winning newspaper columnist. Mitchel and wife Quandra have been married for 35 years and have two grown/married daughters, Rachelle and Amber, and one granddaughter.


Rev. Gary Mitrik

Pastor, Greater Works Outreach

     With a passion to see people enjoy the fullness of God’s best for their lives, Gary Mitrik, senior pastor and founder of Greater Works Outreach, located in Monroeville, PA, equips believers through his teaching and preaching ministry.  His involvement with city-wide ministry strategically positions him to help unite pastors in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.  He offers opportunity for believers to receive deliverance and freedom through the Holy Spirit Conference held at Greater Works Outreach every July.

     In the ministry since 1975, Pastor Gary and his wife, Karen, have two children, Bethany and Andre, and one grandson. 


William E. Kofmehl, Jr., Ph.D

Founder, Christian Literacy Associates

“Dr. Bill” Kofmehl, CTVN Board Member,   is the founder and President of Christian Literacy Associates (CLA) and its model program, the Allegheny Co. Literacy Council, Inc. 

“Dr. Bill” received his Ph.D. in education from the University of Pittsburgh, with post-doctoral study in linguistics and literacy at the University of Oklahoma under the Wycliffe Bible Translators.  He is a retired Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel and spent 14 years teaching for the Command and General Staff College.  “Dr. Bill” served 7 years as a school board member, and ten years as an adjunct professor supervising student teachers at Point Park University.  He and his wife Linda have four grown children and four grandchildren.  Their home is in West View, north of the city of Pittsburgh.
