Primary Problem:
Poverty and abandonment. Peru has an unemployment rate of between 60% — 70%. In the
capital city of Lima, 27 children die every day due to abandonment.
How We Are Helping
Government-run orphanages are known as places where abuse and neglect are daily events. Many children would rather die
on the streets than face certain abuse in these orphanages. It is our goal to build trust in this area so the children
will be willing to come and stay at our orphanage. We will also continue our work in the 5 feeding centers (Little
Lambs of Lima) which surround the capital city. With our newest center, we have been able to build a medical
facility. We have one doctor who has chosen to serve the children of Lima. The children will also be able to grow some
of their food on ground purchased adjacent to the center and we will have a church on site as well.
