Born To Be Free Wins Best Teaching Program
Award
 |

Chuck Hamby accepts the Best Television Teaching Program award for
Born To Be Free at the 2005 NRB Convention. |
Cornerstone TeleVision's Born To Be Free, a thirteen-week television series that delves
into the dangerous world of addiction, recently received the National
Religious Broadcasters (NRB) award for Best Television Teaching Program. The award is given annually to a program
that best demonstrates creative use of the teaching format, adheres to sound doctrine and biblical integrity, and is
uniquely innovative in the presentation of the Gospel.
Born To Be Free is hosted by La Verne Tripp and traces the spiritual roots of the "Oxford Groups" & "AA". A
20-year dream of Ron Hembree and Chuck Hamby, Born To Be Free became a reality when Hembree assumed the
leadership role of Cornerstone TeleVision. Through personal testimonies from former addicts and historical data, the
series stresses the need for salvation and regeneration by the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the former addict
to maintain a clean life before the Lord. Born To Be Free contrasts society's answer with the biblical approach
to the problem and viewers find hope and freedom through embracing Christ and His Word.
Born To Be Free not only ministers to the addict watching television, but provides resources and information on
getting involved in a local recovery group. Plus, it is a useful tool for those living with addicts to help them
understand what the addict is going through and how to best help them. The program is aired throughout the world via
television networks and the internet.
