Because Biblical unity and harmony among Christians will bring glory to

unity and harmony among the various Christian communities using as its
basis for coming together in agreement the belief that
the scriptures both the Old and New Testaments are
verbally inspired of God in the original writing and are God's special
revelation of Himself and His creation. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
Essentials To Biblical Unity
I. The Bible
The 66 books of the Bible are God's inspired, infallible, and inerrant
word for all men everywhere for all time. (II Tim. 3:15-17; Matt. 5:18;
II Peter 1:20,21)
II. God
A. There is one God eternally existent in 3 distinct persons; the
Father,
the Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit. (I Jn. 5:7; Matt. 28:19; Lk.
3:21,22.)
B. The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God:
- Born of a virgin (Is. 7:14; Matt. 1;21-23; Lk. 1:31 & 35)
- Lived a sinless life (I Peter 2:21 & 22; Heb. 4:15; I Jn 3:5)
- Died on the Cross to save sinners (Is. 53:5 & 6; I Cor. 15:3 & 4; II Cor. 5:21)
- Rose bodily from the dead (Lk. 24:39; I Cor. 15:3-8; Acts 2:22-23)
- Ascended to the right hand of the Father (Lk. 24:50- 52; Acts 1:9; Heb. 1:3)
- Will come again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Acts 1:9-11; Rev. 19:11-16; Matt. 24:27-30 & 36)
III. Man
God created man in His own image, and man by his own will chose to believe
the lie of Satan to disobey God. As a result of sin, mankind was
separated from God by spiritual and physical death. (Gen. 1:26 & 27;
2:17; 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12-19) Man's only hope of reconciliation with God is
through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (I Tim. 2:5; John 14:6)
A. Salvation: (Acts 4:12)
- Repent of sin - the works of the world, the flesh and the devil. (Eph. 2:1-3; Lk. 13:2-5; II Peter 3:9; Acts 2:38; 17:29 & 30; Lev. 16:21)
- Faith through grace ... not of works. (Eph. 2:8 & 9; Lk. 7:47-50; Rom. 4:3-5, 20-5:1; 9:30-32)
- Receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior - becoming a member of the body of Christ, which transcends denominational barriers. (John 1:12; Rev. 3:20; Acts 15:14-17; Rom. 11:7-25)
- Confess Christ. (Rom. 10:8-10; I Jn. 4:15; Matt. 10: 32 & 33)
Judgment: (Jn. 5:22, 27-29; 12:48)
- All will be judged according to what they did with Jesus Christ as well as to their works done while here on earth. (Jn. 3:36; I Jn. 5:11 & 12; II Cor. 5:10; Rev. 20: 11 & 12)
- The believer will rule and reign with Jesus forever. (I Cor. 3:10-15; Rev. 3:21)
- The unbeliever will be condemned to a conscious existence in eternal damnation with Satan. (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10-15)
