“But you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit comes upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, to the uttermost part of
the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
As the church celebrates its birthday in this season of Pentecost, we remember the upper room where the church was born through 120 believers ignited by the fire of the Holy Spirit. Also worth celebrating is the truth that this same fire can still set our world ablaze through you and me today.
The Spirit still empowers us as witnesses for Christ
from our hometown to the ends of the earth,and we keep this fire ignited simply by sharing the Gospel
with a neighbor, praying in tongues, operating in the
gifts of the Spirit under a local church covering, or
maybe even by traveling to “the uttermost part of
the earth.”
In this holy season of Pentecost, I encourage you to rekindle that fire wherever you go. Pray in the Holy Spirit, be bold to share your faith, and minister as He leads. And most importantly, let the Holy Spirit know
that He is welcome in your life. Remember that He is a Person, not a power, and allow Him to be your Comforter—Helper, Guide, and your very best Friend. Let Him know you don’t want to live a day without Him.
